Elders

Mother Earth. Father Sky.

We need to take care of our Elders. We need to remember what they've gone through for us, before us. What they've taught us. How they've held us. Held us so we would live to see the land as it rose out of the ocean and became this land of enchantment.

I'm in Santa Fe, or Fanta Se (depending on your mood). Looking at the land and the sky as they meet in Georgia O'Keefe land I think of past and future. Once this land was under an ocean, deep and humbling. Our prehistoric forebears roamed the waters that slowly carved their signatures on the granite, sandstone, basalt and limestone rocks. The beautiful red rocks where later came the pueblo and now roam bright, colorful lizards. And bright, colorful humans.
